Offers for Children’s Groups and School Classes
Learn, marvel, and join in
From March to October, we offer special programs for children’s groups and school classes. Depending on age and areas of interest, different parts of the museum can be explored as part of a guided children’s tour.
For primary school groups, our hands-on children’s tours allow the kids to become actively involved in various topics.
All offers must be booked in advance!
Children’s Guided Tour
The children will learn what a “black kitchen” is, where people used to wash and go to the toilet, and how everyday life and work were organized in the past.
The children’s tour lasts around 60 minutes and is designed for children aged 6 to 12. Each group is limited to 10 to 15 participants.
Children’s Hands-On Tour
During a short introductory tour of the museum grounds, children will learn the essentials about the open-air museum and gain insights into the daily lives of children in the past. Afterwards, they can actively take part and try out important tasks from earlier times themselves.
Each part of the program lasts about 45 minutes.
The full tour takes around 90 minutes and is limited to 15 children per group.
Topics of the Hands-On Tour
Farming & Nutrition
Milk & Butter
Building & Craftsmanship

Old Games
How did grandma play when she was little? What kinds of games were popular in the past? The children can try them out – from walking on stilts to sack races. Let the games begin!
One-Room School
The hands-on school tour lasts about 90 minutes and is limited to 25 children per group.
Costs: €3.00 per child (project fee), plus €2.00 reduced admission per child/accompanying person.
