At the Thuringian Open-Air Museum Hohenfelden, history comes to life – especially during our popular Sunday and holiday activities! Every Sunday, as well as every Tuesday during Thuringian school holidays, we invite visitors of all ages to experience traditional crafts up close, get creative themselves, and discover rural life from past centuries with all their senses.

Whether felting, butter churning, blacksmithing, pottery, or basket weaving – our activities change regularly and offer exciting hands-on opportunities for all ages. Under the expert guidance of our craftsmen and staff, children and adults can not only watch but also try things out for themselves.
