The Thuringian Open-Air Museum Hohenfelden consists of two unique sites: the historic “Alter Pfarrhof” in the village center and the spacious museum grounds at Eichenberg. Each site offers its own exhibitions, buildings, and experiences.

Our historic buildings are only partially accessible. Please note that some houses have raised thresholds, non-standard steps, and low doors or passages. The terrain is uneven in places, which may make access with wheelchairs or walkers difficult.

No, smoking is strictly prohibited in all exhibition areas – including the open-air grounds.
Can I buy tickets in advance?
Tickets are available directly at the museum ticket office. For groups and guided tours, we recommend booking in advance.

The open-air grounds are largely accessible with strollers. In some historic buildings, access may be restricted due to stairs or narrow doorways.

Yes, you are welcome to take photos for private purposes. Please refrain from using flash inside the exhibition rooms. For commercial photography, a permit is required.
